PC-Mac PasswordVault v4.1 features new icons, iPod and Fedora Linux compatibility


ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA -- February 22, 2005 -- Lava Software is now shipping PC-Mac PasswordVault v4.1, a simple and practical password manager for both individuals as well as enterprises requiring cross-platform compatibility (Windows, MacOS and Linux) and secure password data backup, recovery and distribution. PC-Mac PasswordVault protects user data with very strong 896-bit encryption, and stores Internet banking data and software serial numbers in addition to website usernames and passwords.


This new version offers new application and PVE document icons, improved compatibility to Fedora Linux, a minimize control on the 'Enter Master Password' dialog, Ctrl key password unmasking and streamlined tab order on the add and edit service dialogs, and other minor enhancements. It is a free upgrade for all users of previous versions.


PC-Mac PasswordVault includes an auto-lock timer, auto-clipboard clear, random password generator, import and export of data (for easy backup and transfer), editable categories, editable notes, a global floating access window, online news function, master password recovery system and selectable skins. The portable version, called PC-Mac PasswordVault2Go, runs directly off USB flash drives and iPods, and can auto-sync to the desktop version.


The free Lite Edition of PC-Mac PasswordVault v4.1 is available for immediate download from http://www.lavasoftware.com and supports up to 15 services, whilst the Standard Edition supports any number of services. Individual licenses of the Standard Edition are priced at USD19.95 each and allow the user to install two copies of the software, and purchasers get download access to the current version of the software for all platforms (both desktop and portable USB flash drive versions), as well as free upgrades for one year.
