PC-Mac-Net FileShare v5.1 adds file integrity checking and faster transfer speeds, new pricing


ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA -- October 25, 2005 -- Lava Software is now shipping PC-Mac-Net FileShare v5.1, a fast and efficient file sharing, workgroup collaboration and remote data synchronization product which operates over LANs and the Internet. Versions are available for Windows, MacOS and Linux.


In this new version, files and folders can be dragged between file lists to initiate transfers, powerful contextual menus have been added to the local and remote file lists, substantial improvements have been made to Internet transfer speeds, upload speeds have been increased by 2-10 times, file and folder transfer integrity can now be easily verified via MD5 signatures, an extensive range of additional file type icons have been added, download speeds have been increased by 20-50%, detailed file information can be obtained on local and remote files and folders, local files can be easily opened with their default applications, MD5 signatures can be obtained for local and remote files and folders, and local file permissions can be changed using the new file information dialog. It is a free upgrade for all users.


New value pack sizes are now available. The Standard Edition is available as a 4 pack (USD39.95), 2 pack (USD24.95) and 1 pack (USD14.95). The Professional Edition is available as a 50 pack (USD399.00), 20 pack (USD199.00), 10 pack (USD119.00), 4 pack (USD59.95), 2 pack (USD39.95) and 1 pack (USD24.95). Free upgrades for one year are included in the price.


The free Lite Edition has 10mb download and 2mb upload file size limits, supports workgroups with up to 3 users and can be downloaded now from http://www.lavasoftware.com. The Standard and Professional Editions have no file size limits, support large workgroups, and offer some additional features.
